Dragged out of the Wedding

‘Dragged out of the wedding’ is a photo-video report that deliberates on endless attempts to fit and challenges the heteronormativity of marriage.

‘Dragged out of the Wedding’ takes place in a dream - the mode of manifestation of our subconsciousness, our needs, desires and deep internal fears. As our Bride, Larwa put it:
‘Growing up in a conservative household, I’ve had very little exposure to LGBTQ+ related topics. I remember my dad vocally criticizing the pride parade and on several occasions making jokes about gays being perverts. It wasn’t all too frequent, but it stuck in my head and I used to pray not to ‘become’ gay.’

In this photo report, bugs symbolize harmful thoughts that often lead to self-destructive behavior. Only after coming to terms with our true nature are we able to find joy.
